Chapter Spotlight: Trumbull County

The Trumbull County Chapter of Americans for Prosperity has a great group of core members who really take to heart Protecting Prosperity and putting that into action!

Kimberly Vincent, the chapter captain, is a working mother and grandmother, who makes time to volunteer even with her busy schedule. She regularly coordinates and hosts twice monthly meetings, comes out to knock doors during campaign season (even traveling 40+ miles to do so), makes social media posts about issues, encourages people to sign petitions, and attends every event we have, including making trips to the statehouse. She’s passionate about educational freedom and reducing tax burdens on the working class.

Gary & Jean Alfonsi, one can’t be named without the other, and while a profile about each of them could be written, it wouldn’t feel right. Married for over 40 years, Gary & Jean are a packaged deal when it comes to volunteering. They rarely miss a meeting, and are willing to go the extra mile from knocking doors to holding politicians accountable. And they bring a positive attitude and perspective to all they do. When they aren’t volunteering with AFP, they’re busy with their ministry, Bikers for Christ.

Tom Torres is a retired service member who is passionate about education and protecting freedom. He enjoys going out and meeting with lawmakers, as well as making calls, videos about policy, and learning about policy. Tom homeschooled his four children (now all grown), and wants to see more options for educational freedom in Ohio, and across the country.

Oren Torres, is a recent graduate, and got involved with his dad, Tom, in helping volunteer to protect prosperity. He is currently pursuing an education in ministry, and an active part of our community in Trumbull County.

Altogether, this small group has made a huge impact in working with Americans for Prosperity, and are some of the most dedicated, called upon volunteers we have, and are all graduates of GLA’s first level.

Kimberly has stated that “One of the best parts of working with AFP has been learning how we can make our voices heard and make an impact. When I started, I had no idea what we could change, but AFP has given me a voice.”
