AFP-OH Supports Sponsor Testimony of House Bill 11

COLUMBUS, OH – Today, Americans for Prosperity-Ohio (AFP-OH) celebrates the progress of House Bill 11 (HB 11) through the House Government Oversight Committee. Sponsored by State Representatives Ron Ferguson and Brian Lorenz, HB 11 strengthens legislative oversight of rulemaking by requiring legislative review of proposed agency regulations with guided economic impacts.

HB 11 is modeled after the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, a federal legislative proposal that promotes transparency and accountability in the rulemaking process.

AFP-OH strongly supports HB 11, which cuts red tape, enhances government transparency, and defends Ohioans from burdensome government regulations.

AFP-OH State Director Donovan O’Neill released the following statement:

“HB 11 is a pivotal step in ensuring our administrative agencies are held accountable to the people they serve, not unchecked government agencies. Transparency and accountability are essential to stifling government overreach and inefficiency. Ohioans deserve to know their state government is working for them, not against them.

“AFP-OH commends Representatives Ferguson and Lorenz for their leadership in introducing HB 11. Their work in advancing policies that champion transparency, accountability, and economic freedom is recognized and appreciated. We look forward to building upon this momentum and working to create solutions that remove barriers and empower Ohioans to achieve prosperity.”
