One Small Step Testimony
Americans for Prosperity-Ohio brings communities together and helps individuals take a series of smalls steps that lead to influencing transformational public policy so we can continue building a bolder, better buckeye state. Kimberly took her first small step on the internet taking a digital action to show support for a single issue that was important to her, and 8 months later her small steps turned into giving testimony at the statehouse for education opportunity:
“My name is Kimberly Vincent. I am a mother of four and grandmother of two. I live in Niles, Ohio. Was born and raised in Warren, Ohio. I heard about Americans for Prosperity through social media. I saw a Facebook post in my feed for a petition on a subject I was interested in. I signed the petition and checked the box about hearing more about AFP and volunteering. I had also seen commercials on TikTok and my tv for AFP previously before the Facebook post. I have been with the group for about 8 months. One month after attending my local meetings I became the captain of my county chapter.
I had waited a long time to come across a group that was legit that I could get behind. I’m worried about my teenage daughters and my grandsons futures. America is not where it should be. I want to leave this earth knowing that I did what I could to make it a better place for them and other families. I have been surprised and very appreciative of the support I have been given by AFP to accomplish great things for Ohio families. Since I started attending meetings, I have wanted to go to the statehouse and speak. I am not one who does something like that and I probably would have never done it without the encouragement of Charles, Holly and the rest of AFP. I am proud to be a member of AFP. I am also proud of my chapter. We are few but mighty and I see nothing but progress and good things in our future. I do intend on going back to the statehouse to speak on other subjects. I considered the opportunity to be an honor and my duty as a chapter leader and as a Mother and Grandmother.”
