AFP Ohio — Buckeye Blueprint Endorsement
AFP Ohio is proud to announce its endorsement of Senator Jane Timken for Ohio Senate District 29 in the November election.
Senator Jane Timken represents Ohio’s 29th Senate District, covering Stark County, having been appointed to the seat in January 2025. A Harvard- and American University-trained attorney, Timken previously served as Chairwoman of the Ohio Republican Party from 2017 to 2021 — the first woman to hold that position — and led the party to sweep every statewide office in 2018 while helping deliver Ohio for President Trump. She ran for the U.S. Senate in 2022 and currently serves as the Republican National Committeewoman for Ohio.
Economic Opportunity
As primary sponsor of Senate Bill 462, the Joining-Opportunities Business and Schools (JOBS) Act, Timken is working to connect Ohio employers directly with colleges and universities through tax-incentivized education partnerships that build the workforce pipeline businesses need. She has also sponsored Senate Bill 146, which codifies the legal standard for piercing the corporate veil, giving Ohio business owners clearer, more predictable rules of the road.
Energy Abundance
A member of the Senate Energy Committee, Timken has backed a run of free-market energy reforms — cosponsoring Senate Bill 2 and House Bill 15 to end the Ohio Valley Electric Corporation subsidies that cost ratepayers roughly $450,000 a day, and Senate Bill 103 to modernize natural gas ratemaking and cut permitting delays at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. She has also cosponsored Senate Bill 219 updating Ohio’s oil and gas well law and a Senate resolution urging Congress to accelerate the buildout of new energy infrastructure.AFP Ohio is proud to endorse Jane Timken because her record as a legislator, business attorney, and former state party chair reflects exactly the pragmatic, principled leadership Buckeye Blueprint priorities need in the Ohio Senate.
