Brian Lorenz is a former mayor, city planner, and current member of the Ohio House of Representatives serving the 60th House District in western Delaware County. Appointed to the legislature in 2023 and elected to a full term in 2024, Lorenz brought with him years of local government experience, including service on city council and leadership roles related to planning, zoning, and economic development. His background in city and regional planning has informed a legislative approach that emphasizes practical, long‑term solutions to Ohio’s growth and governance challenges.
Since joining the General Assembly, Lorenz’s legislative work has overlapped with the core policy areas of the Buckeye Blueprint: economic freedom, energy abundance, education opportunity, and modernizing Ohio’s government. As Vice Chair of the House Development Committee, and a member of committees addressing transportation, insurance, and local government, he has been involved in legislation related to regulatory reform, workforce and economic development, property tax policy, and government transparency. This includes efforts to streamline regulations through programs like a universal regulatory sandbox, address affordability concerns for homeowners and seniors, and improve administrative clarity at both the state and local levels.
AFP Ohio is proud to endorse Brian Lorenz. With the help of Buckeye Blueprint champions like Rep. Lorenz, AFP Ohio wants to build Ohio’s ability to compete and thrive.
