Policy Agenda: 2024 and looking ahead

In 2024, Americans for Prosperity – Ohio will create a solid foundation to further advance our Buckeye Blueprint agenda, focusing on:  

  • Economic Opportunity for All Ohioans  
  • Educational Freedom for All Ohio Families  
  • Ending the Cronyist Era of Energy Policy  

Our priorities for the remainder of this General Assembly will tier up to what we will advocate for in the next budget cycle, and for the duration of the 136th General Assembly.

Section 3: Energy Policy

Maintain fuel source neutrality 

State governments play a large role in structuring and influencing energy and energy commodities which results in scarcity, higher prices, and less reliable access to energy. One way governments tip the scales is through subsidizing politically preferable forms of energy instead of fuel sources that are abundant, reliable, and accessible. An “all of the above” approach to fuel sources will ensure competition in the marketplace that will ultimately benefit the consumer.

Section 1: Economic Freedom

  1. Economic Opportunity for all Ohioans 
  2. Eliminate Ohio’s income tax 
  3. Reduce government bloat and spending
  4. Ensure stability in Ohio’s public pensions system

Section 2: Educational Freedom

  1. Education Freedom for all Ohio Families
  2. Ensure that money follows the student
  3. Remove lines between public school districts

Section 3: Energy Policy

  1. Ending the Cronyist Era of Energy Policy
  2. Maintain fuel source neutrality 
  3. Reduce governmental regulations
  4. Increase transparency
